Enter a width or height and keep the other side in proportion. This image ratio calculator uses presets such as 16:9 or 4:5, or an uploaded photo, to start from a real pixel size. Your image stays in this browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

HOW TO
Resize dimensions without drifting off the ratio.
01
Start from numbers or a photo
Type the current pixel size, or drop an image in to fill both fields. The simplified ratio appears beside them.
02
Lock the ratio
With the lock on, editing one side recalculates the other. Turn it off only when you intend to crop or change the shape.
03
Apply a preset if you need a standard frame
1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16 and the other presets set the ratio and resize the empty side from the width you already entered.

Image ratio calculator
This aspect ratio finder is also an image ratio calculator. To find the aspect ratio, enter both pixel sides or upload a photo. The pixel ratio calculator divides them by their greatest common divisor: 1920 × 1080 becomes 16:9, and 3000 × 2000 becomes 3:2. An aspect ratio calculator in pixels uses that same grid. The decimal beside the pair is width divided by height, which is useful when a layout asks for a number instead of a ratio.
Presets for photos and screens
3:2 and 4:3 match common camera frames. 16:9 and 21:9 match widescreen video. 4:5 and 9:16 are taller frames used for portraits and vertical video. A preset changes the target shape; it does not decide whether the picture will look sharp at that size.
Resizing is not the same as enhancing
If you download a resized copy, the browser resamples the pixels you already have. Enlarging a small photo this way can look soft. Use the print size calculator when you need inches and centimetres, or the AI upscaler when the enlarged result needs reconstructed detail.
GOOD QUESTIONS
Common questions
How do I keep the aspect ratio when I change one side?
Leave the ratio locked. Type the new width and the height updates, or type the new height and the width updates. Unlock it if you want to set both numbers yourself.
Is this an image ratio calculator?
Yes. An image ratio calculator and an aspect ratio finder answer the same question: how wide the picture is compared with its height. Type pixels or upload a photo, and the simplified ratio appears immediately.
How do I find the aspect ratio in pixels?
Divide width by height, or let this pixel ratio calculator do it. 1920 × 1080 pixels is 16:9. The aspect ratio calculator in pixels uses the dimensions you enter, not a guess from the filename.
What are common photo aspect ratios?
1:1 is square, 4:3 and 3:2 are classic camera frames, 16:9 is widescreen, and 4:5 or 9:16 are vertical frames. The preset buttons apply those shapes to your current width.
Does this calculator resize the file by itself?
The numbers update immediately. A download is created only if you also choose an image and ask for a resized copy. That copy is made in your browser.
Can I upload a photo just to read its dimensions?
Yes. The upload fills the width and height and never leaves your device. You can ignore the download button if you only needed the ratio.
Will a resized download look as sharp as an AI upscale?
Not when you are enlarging. Browser resampling stretches existing pixels. The AI photo upscaler is the better next step when the result looks soft.
